Darkened Skies, Pillars of Light - for Wind Ensemble (Med)

$100.00

On the day of March 28th, 2020, the city of Jonesboro, AR was ravaged by a tornado that destroyed many businesses and homes within the busiest part of the city. No one saw it coming and by the time the warnings came it was already on the ground. The storm grew for miles and continued its path even after passing through the city. Many places where many memories were made are now ruins with a past. But even as the skies screamed at the earth that day, the city and its citizens banded together and immediately began to clean and rebuild what was lost. Where the skies darkened, the people and their families smiled through. No lives were lost that day. The city of Jonesboro is a city of fighters, a city of leaders, a city of survivors, and a city of hope. This piece paints the picture and the story of hope through destruction, knowing that in the end everything will be okay.
