Biography

Born February 5th, 2000 (Jackson, Tennessee), Parker William Long is a freelance composer, educator, and conductor residing in Nashville, Arkansas.

Long serves as the Director of Bands at Nashville Junior High School in Nashville, Arkansas, and regularly works as a freelance composer and arranger. His work has been received and read by numerous ensembles across the country and overseas, including Her Majesty’s Royal Marine Band, the Royal Australian Air Force Band, “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band, the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing Band, the Arkansas State University Wind Ensemble, and numerous High School Ensembles. His Symphony No. 1 built a consortium, his first, of 6 ensembles (4 High School Wind Ensembles and 2 University Wind Ensembles).

Long was the composer-in-residence for “The Pride of Greene County” Marching Eagle Band at Greene County Tech High School, serving as the Marching Band Composer and Co-Instructor of Percussion for 4 years, and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumental Music Education from Arkansas State University.

In his leisure time, Long enjoys quality time with family and friends, composing, studying conducting, reading, watching TV Shows and Movies, and taking drives while listening to music.
